Edited by Benjamin Shannon Allen. Very Good condition hardcovers with pebbled leather bound boards, gilt lettering to covers, and blind-tooled borders. Surfaces show some dust build-up in places, but are free of any superficial stains. Leather rubbed from corners with narrow rubbing to joints, though there are no resultant tears. Interiors show uniformly clean pages with only some light toning to borders on occasion. Volume I spine starting to crack near table of contents, but paper has not torn and binding fabric remains undamaged. Bindings are tight all elsewhere, with no split gutters. Lovely textured tissue guards are all in place, and illustrations are bright and clear. A beautiful and scarce pair of volumes published in commemoration of San Francisco’s Portola Festival.
