Vintage San Francisco Golden Gate Bridge Water Department water meter cover Clean it up or leave with the patina that can only show over time. Measures 10 by 6 1/2 by 1 3/4 inches. Old meter cover that was in service for decades. Hefty hunk of cast iron: over 5 pounds. Bottom embossed with United States Patent Office number: 2,619,837 (indicates patent issued in the year 1953).
