1940’s 50’s San Francisco California Tourist Booklets Lassen Volcanic National. Has some stains and foxing, still intact. Hotel greeters guide is amazing and. Full of cool photos and ads. We work really hard to show size, condition, weight, and accurately describe our items mostly through our photos. Please look at them. We are extremely picky about what enters our inventory, if it’s a contemporary item it will be in like new condition. Older items like Native American jewelry that has been worn for 50+ years is expected to have wear which is considered desirable to most collectors. Fine porcelain, glass will likely be mint unless I describe otherwise. Items deemed fancy I would never offer unless in near mint condition, utilitarian pieces are expected to have wear. We do not mark our items up with the intention of marking them down to the first person who comes along and shows interest. That time could be put to better use like taking our kid to the park!!! It is always a first time customer which makes it that much more horrible as I cannot look at the loss as something that averages out, it’s just a stand alone loss.

Inner hinges – ok – looks like paper was cracked & re-glued. Pages – generally very clean, hardly any spots. Writing – very small sticker from “Rainbow book shop” on front paste down & a small stamp on rear fep shown. Rips /folds – no rips that I saw – rear end paper with a fold plus the other raer end paper with its wee tip missing. It does have a very, very, faint smell- not a bad smell, but a smell. Album of San Francisco. 1880-90’s, San Francisco by the San Francisco News Company. 12 leaves of views, accordion style binding. Illustrated with lithographed views. Publisher’s oblong cloth binding, gilt title lettering, embossed cover decorations. Book is not new or in “new” condition. Paper is gently toned, small early compass rose added atop the miniature birds-eye view affixed to front pastedown, still clean, tight, sound internally. Still attractive on the shelf. The book displays a pleasing and unique age patina and is in overall nice antiquarian condition, any age flaws which may be present seem easy to overlook or forgive. Please review photos for more detail showing how this book survives. The asking price reflects the condition based on our examination and 35+ years full time exposure to antiquarian books, maps and printed ephemera of all types and genres. Flaws seen and/ or described have been taken into account. 4 1/4″ H x 6″ W.
