Comes with a newspaper clipping of a 1978 San Francisco Chronicle article on “The Brides of Folsom Prison”, which profiles several of the male prisoners who had married at Folsom at the time. In the article, we find out that Jackson is incarcerated for burglary and assault, with hopes of being paroled soon. Photos dated from 1976-80. Many photos are captioned, with most also being date stamped on verso. Many photos depict Jackson and his wife and two kids, who stayed with him throughout the span of his time locked up. He is seen in a variety of civilian and prison clothing throughout the years, suggesting that he was possibly in and out of incarceration throughout these four years. In his civilian clothes, he epitomizes the style of the late 1970s, with his small afro, wide lapels, and flared pants. He is pictured in stints at Folsom, California Men’s Colony, Tehachapi, and Chino state prison, suggesting that he was likely a resident of and convicted in Southern California. Three photos depict his wedding which occurred in prison in May 1977. His wife and kids often visited him, with many photos displaying them embracing inside prison facilities. Bobby and his wife are seen several times with other couples, presumably also on visitation, sat out on the lawn in the prison grounds and spending some leisure time together.
