Made to the exact 1957 standard from the origins of the Eisenhower interstate highway system. This design was supplanted by the modern shield style-often with the state name omitted! In 1971, and it gets harder and harder to find the original-style interstate route markers in many states. This sign is flat printed on heavy gauge steel, with completely accurate layout and fonts. It weighs about 2 lb. And is 12 by 12 inches. It is a non-reflective sign-perfect for ordinary display, indoors or outdoors. If you would like a different size version, please ask as I can certainly make one! This is a high quality, heavy steel replica sign. Accept no imitations that may be one-third this price, but are one-tenth the quality. No cheap tin to be found here, with the wrong fonts, layouts, size, shape, or any other manner of embarrassing imperfection. This one will make even the most discerning collector stick their nose into the sign, as it looks that good from that close! Contents cover the first 40 years of California’s development following its 1850 annexation as the 31. State in the US. A rare, unique vintage color lithograph pictorial / illustrated map, “A Map Showing San Francisco and the Sacramento Valley in the Year 1849, ” from 1929, by artist CEJ. CEJ is Charles Everett Johnson, from Gilroy, California, just south of San Francisco. He was born in 1866, and practiced art and graphic design in Southern California, until the 1940s. This is a particularly rare map in that regard! While this map is marked CEJ 1929, others from this series Chicago, Philadelphia, New Orleans, Washington, D. Boston, and New York City are marked differently, including no markings, CEJ, CEJ 29, or CEJ 1929. May be plates from a book or magazine, but I have been unable to find any others like it! For conditions, please review photos closely using the magnifying tool or zoom in! Color lithograph illustrated map A Map Showing San Francisco and the Sacramento Valley in the Year 1849 in used condition, with age, use, and storage related wear. Original crease down center, smaller crease at top right corner. Some small tears along he left edge, likely from when it was removed from its original source. Some slight toning around edges, slightly rougher along left edge. Make sure to handle with care! Otherwise vivid illustrated lithograph map in red and black displays quite nicely!
