Here we have a lot of 9 original vintage photos, which depict the recommissioning ceremony of the U. Iowa at the San Francisco Naval Shipyard in California. Nice paper military battleship collectibles. These are press photos, and are stamped on the back. Three of the photos measure about 9″ x 7 inches, while one of them measures around 10.5″ x 8.5 inches. Items look to be in good overall condition for their age, as you can see from the photos. Don’t hesitate to ask questions.

EIGHT Original 1903 FOURTH OF JULY PARADE PHOTOGRAPHS from the San Francisco Bay Area East Bay Contra Costa Town of ANTIOCH. Each photographic is different view of the parade. The photographs were taken at the Antioch, California Fourth of July Parade along Second street across from the Arlington Hotel (of true crime fame in 1906 but that’s another story) which is next door to the Antioch Shoe Store R. Wall, Proprietor with the edge of the L. Meyers Store showing farther down the street. From this same vantage point each richly detailed photograph shows different scenes of the parade. Festive horse drawn carriages, Western riders, beautifully dressed spectators, decorated floats, marching bands, flower and flag draped scenery. Eight (8) original 7″ x 10″ card mounted photographs circa 1903. One mount has HOIEN, ANTIOCH, CAL embossed on the front, the rest are unmarked. VERY GOOD CONDITION: The photographs are bright and clean, the card mounts have light edgewear, 1903 is written in pencil on the front bottom margins, one mount has a penned number beneath the penciled date, one has a corner chip, the backs of the mounts have black paper remnants from being removed from an album, and a few have a penned name to the back top margin, and the mounts are slightly warped, otherwise a unique collection of original photographs. The San Francisco Bay Area town of Antioch is one of the oldest towns in California. Founded in 1850 just after gold was discovered in the region, it was incorporated in 1872 and flourished as a mining, farming, and dairy community tied to the region by the railroad and deep water ports.

Lot of 2 Vintage Acetate Photographs. Marina District – San Francisco, California. A pair of vintage photographs showing the Freedom Train going through the Marina District in San Francisco. The Freedom Train visited San Francisco in 1948 as part of a cross-country tour exhibiting historical artifacts. One photo shows the train on the Marina with vehicles visible on the street. One of the vehicles is a San Francisco Chronicle newspaper van. The other photo gives a closer view of the train itself with one of the decorated lamp posts visible in the foreground. SIZE : The photos are approximately 4 7/8″ by 3 7/8″ in size. The photos are printed on acetate (safety film). The photo with the SF Chronicle vehicle is marked “Ansco Safety Film” near the edge and has a notch towards the bottom. I believe these were both printed in the era circa 1948 when taken… But possibly later into the 1950s. CONDITION : Very good overall condition. There are no splits or cracks to the acetate. The photo with the Chronicle van has a small surface impression/wrinkle to the bottom edge. Please view scans for an accurate depiction of condition.

Set of 3 mounted photographs of survivors and tent city from the San Francisco Earthquake in 1906 by itinerant photographer Frank L. Stone (Stone the View Man who traveled to SF from Oklahoma to set up a photo studio and take pictures). Not sure what location these were taken. You can see tall buildings in distance and a store sign in near background. Original board mounted photos. Photographer stamp on back reads: Stone the View Man, 3894 17th St. Dimensions: 11″ x 9″ each. Condition: One board has lower corner tip missing, boards are a bit wavy. Photographs are very good. Photo resolution is sharper than scanned image and image may be enlarged to show detail. “Retrotreasures” watermark does not appear in actual photograph. I specialize in vintage photographs, ephemera, real photo postcards and gay & lesbian interest.
