Sept 28 1862 San Francisco date lined letter sent to Ohio. Have to go on the Sacramento river in the cars and stage, to get home. I like my new home Mer (muir) Woods… You ought to see some of the Chinamen that come to our store to trade perhaps a hundred and fifty in a day, with their long cues (hair) hanging down almost to their feet.
