24 pages including printed wraps. 8 x 11.5. This is a used antique magazine. Please study the photos for the best description of condition. Loosely string bound, no covers. As such the quality of the plates is very good. First illustration titled “First View Of The Sierras By California Pioneers”. The plate depicting the Columbia River from a photo by Watkins is exceptionally nice. The text content is charming as well. There is a nice write up and engraving of a popular California Author. Some other California content, such as an Ode to the original pioneers. Some fun children’s content as well. Worldcat shows only five institutional holdings. Cover is a bit dirty. Illustrated with photos, drawings, and maps. AMAZING ADS IN THE BACK OF BOOK. Printed on glossy paper, each page includes at least one illustration. Foldout map, 8″ x 18″, of San Francisco before the earthquake. Published as San Francisco was rebuilding after the 1906 earthquake, this book shows “modern” San Francisco as it was and as people hoped it was going to be. The hundreds of illustrations include photos of new and restored buildings, as well as drawings of homes and buildings planned but not yet completed. Condition: Pages are clean, no writing. The binding is loose [see posted pictures], cover spine cover is gone see pictures, but all pages and cover are attached. Cover shows signs of wear on the edges and spine, and the front cover is as shown, look at posted photos.

Charming antique book of 24 full-page engraved color illustrations of San Francisco scenes, measuring 8 x 5 1/4 and including several pages of descriptive text. Published by Newman Post Card Co. Staple bound, still holding firm. Nothing loose or detached. Text also references with pride the city has made since the great earthquake of 1906. Covers toned with a few small marks and stains as shown in photos. Pages lightly toned with very infrequent light spotting in margins only. Color illustrations very fine.
