San Francisco Golden Gate Bridge Original Suspension Cable on Wood Base W/ COA. This is a section of an original suspender cable from the Golden Gate Bridge, spanning the entrance to San Francisco Bay known as the Golden Gate. The original suspender cable, manufactured by the John A. Roebling’s Sons Co. Was erected in 1936. This section of the original cable was removed and replaced with new cable during 1975 & 1976 by Al Johnson-Sehlins & Geer, a joint venture, as part of contract XL with the Golden Gate Bridge, Highway and Transportation District. A certificate of authenticity and the location from which this section was removed is on the reverse of the COA. Comes in original box with solid walnut base and COA.
