Cottonwood destination highway sign. Up for sale today is this CSAA Cottonwood, Red Bluff, San Francisco distance sign. Made to the exact standards as used from 1934 to 1936 by the California State Auto Association. This sign was posted on US 99 southbound leaving the city of Anderson. The sign is 21 x 14 inches and weighs a solid 7 pounds, 8 ounces as it is constructed out of durable, heavy steel, for an appearance that is nearly indistinguishable from the old porcelain signs that were originally used back in the day. It has been faithfully rescaled from the original 36 x 24 sign by half in each dimension, for more convenient display. This is a high quality, heavy steel sign. Accept no imitations that may be one-third this price, but are one-tenth the quality. No cheap tin to be found here, with the wrong fonts, layouts, size, shape, or any other manner of embarrassing imperfection. This one will make even the most discerning collector stick their nose into the sign, as it looks that good from that close! Would you like a number not seen here? Or perhaps a different style? I can of course make these signs with any city name of your choice, and not just this style, but older and newer ones, and even the classic mileage, direction, and route shield signs from the era. Anything you would like, made with unsurpassed quality right here in the good old US of A.
