Mid Century Photo Metal Etching Art of 1906 San Francisco Earthquake Ron Morano
It is a Zinc Metal Plate Etching Representing the 1906 San Francisco Earthquake. It is a Street Scene with Workers and Looters among the destruction near the Bon Ton Clothier Store. It measures 4 5/8″ X 6 1/2″ and is mounted on the Original Artist Supplied Wooden Frame and Engraved Name Plate. Supplied Description on back is as follows: The engravings are etched with nitric acid on zinc metal. Plates-3 months-are a culmination-synthesis-of photography, zinc engraving, and graphic art. Limited edition-original plate is copied to the zinc copy, then bathed in a patented formula. Highlighting and detail are brushed in by hand with nitric acid. Condition is excellent for the age with a few scuffs across the Plate. I BELIEVE THIS IS A POST EARTHQUAKE IMAGE BASED ON MY RESEARCH BUT CAN NOT SAY FOR SURE.
