Framed 1915 San Francisco SEALS PCL Baseball Photo HARRY HEILMANN in Pinstripes
The man in the middle with his hand in front of his jersey is probably Harry Heilmann, the Hall of Fame baseball player who played seventeen major league seasons (mostly with the Detroit Tigers) and who retired with a. 342 batting average in the majors! This photograph is double-matted and framed in an oval wood frame. The photograph has a dark sepia tone to it that is difficult to photograph (my digital photos make the photographic image appear lighter than it actually is). This is a terrific piece of Pacific Coast League and professional baseball history. Heilmann was a great player who spent a short amount of time in the PCL, for Portland and San Francisco 1913 and 1915. The portion of the image that is visible within the matted area is 4 inches by approximately 3. The wood frame measures about 11 1/2 inches across by slightly over 9 1/2 inches tall. I will guarantee this photograph to be from the 1915 era. The pinstripe uniforms are amazing and the cadet-style jerseys have “SEALS” spelled vertically down the chest.
