Irish Terrier Champion Harlem Ringleader, 1928, dog, Photograph by Elwyn
This photograph was sent by his owner, Geo. Brenner, to the AKC for inclusion in their 1928 Champions section as shown in the small sheet attached to the photograph. This great Irish Terrier photograph was taken by Jane Elwyn, San Francisco, California. This photograph is in nice condition and measures approximately 7″ x 10″. There may be minor wear typical for a photograph of this age. Jane Elwyn wrote an outstanding series of dog show articles for the San Francisco Examiner in the 1920s, as well as being a photographer. On this photograph, in the lower left corner, is embossed “Jane Elwyn San Francisco”. To the right of the terrier is shown “Elwyn S F”. And “Jane Elwyn Photo Please Give Credit” appears nears the hand written name of the owner, Geo. This could be a very nice addition to an Irish Terrier history collection. This could also be a great addition to an Irish Terrier Club’s archive. This photograph will be sent to you in an archival clear protective sleeve, placed on an acid-free and a lignin-free mat board. The sleeve and the mat board will help protect the photograph overall, may make storage of the photograph easier and, may also be suitable for the display of the photograph. This protective sleeve and mat board may also assist in reducing photo edge curl common to very old photographs on early thin photographic paper. Do Note that this photo is not affixed to the mat board and can be easily removed from the sleeve for framing or other storage and display. Then the photograph will be wrapped in kraft paper and then wrapped with protective bubble wrap.
