1898 San Francisco, California Medal, Celebrating The Centennial Of The Swiss Colony In California. San Francisco Bay Entrance and Fort Point pictured on the obverse, with a fasces topped with a Swiss Alpine hat, encircled by a wreath and a legend in Ticinese, “The Ticinese (Swiss Canton) Colony Of California, March 1st, 1898″. Struck in tin, 34 mm diameter, with a long loop at the top, in almost uncirculated condition, and starting to darken. Undoubtedly a rare and seldom seen San Francisco Celebration Medal.
