Two (2) Original Etchings. Hina Town” & “Sutters Mill 1847. Signed & Titled by Nadine Torrance (in pencil). Frame size 11.5″ by 15″ & Etchings 5″ by 7″. The etchings are in great condition in original frames. They were framed in New York City in the a pproximately the 1940’s. See all pictures for condition & details. Was born in Oregon on May 19, 1900. She moved to California about 1920, and she studied at UC Berkeley and California School of Fine Arts, now called San Francisco Art Institute. In 1935, she married William Torrance and she began working for the Works Progress Administration, Art Education program throughout the 1930s. Torrance worked as a draftsman for the United States Navy the last 20 years of life. Nadine maintained a home in San Francisco until her death on February 11, 1974.
