The original suspender cable, manufactured by the John A. Roebling’s Sons Co. Was erected in 1936. This section of the original cable was removed and replaced with new cable during 1975 & 1976 by Al Johnson-Sehlins & Geer, a joint venture, as part of contract XL with the Golden Gate Bridge, Highway and Transportation District.
