Spectacular American Folk Parquetry Hope Chest Oakland Ca. Circa 1940’s Measures 30 ½” by 18″ and it stands 15 ½ high including the casters, the inside is painted white and has a chain to hold the lid in place in a vertical position. There are brass corner protectors and hinges. The wood has a nice clear protective varnish. There are a few minor marks on the wood from moving and small white paint marks. Also there are two very small holes on both sides where handles may have been attached (it is a standard hole and width for a handle). Made by Jack M. Ferrier of Oakland, California in the late 1940’s during his retirement. He served in WWI and again as a War Department security patrol officer at the San Francisco Port of Embarkation in WWII.
